Opening reception: We will kick off the conference with a welcome reception and registration on Sunday evening from 19:00 to 21:00. Drinks and canapés will be served (included in the registration fee).

Young Astronomers Mixer: The KASC6 conference will continue the tradition of having a Young Astronomers Mixer. On Monday night we invite all the young astronomers (and all of those young at heart) at the conference to join us at King St Brewhouse in Darling Harbour, only a short walk from the conference venue, for an evening of networking and socializing. We have reserved a portion of the restuarant with a view of Darling Harbour and attendees can partake in 2 for 1 meals and drink specials.
Excursion: No conference is complete without a chance to get out of the conference venue and see a bit of the host city. The excursion for KASC6 will take us to North Head, one of Sydney's numerous National Parks within the city area. The excursion is included as part of your registration, more information about the excursion can be found here.
Astrophysical Pizza Night at Sydney Observatory: Set high on Observatory Hill, with great views of Sydney Harbour, historic Sydney Observatory, opened in 1858, is now a hertiage site, education centre and museum of astronomy. Your special evening begins with a delicious pizza supper (options include vegetarian and gluten free) followed by a tour of historic Sydney Observatory by astronomy guides, Planetarium show and telescope viewing (weather permitting).
This event is exclusive to KASC6 attendees and their family/guests and numbers are limited. Should the weather be inclement this event still procedes.

Time: 6:20 pm start (Pizza arrival time 6:30pm), concludes at 8pm.

Conference Dinner: The city of Sydney is centered around its world famous harbour and thus it only makes sense that the conference dinner occur on a cruise of the harbour. Onboard the MV Captain Cook III from Captain Cook Cruises we will enjoy a three hour tour of the harbour and its many famous sights, including the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. The evening will start with drinks and canapes on the outdoor viewing deck of the ship before we proceed downstairs for a three course dinner where you can continue to enjoy the sights of the harbour as you dine. The dinner includes an open bar with a selection of Australian beer and wine, plus soft drinks and juices.
